Start a relationship with Jesus.

If you sense the Holy Spirit is calling out to you to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, don't waste any more time! God loves you and is waiting for you with open arms. All you have to do is respond to the Gospel that Jesus alone can save us from our sins.  Here are some simple biblical steps that God has called us to follow to know Christ and live with Him for eternity!

Acknowledge your sin and need for a Savior to forgive you and make you clean. We all must come to the point where we are broken and aware of our condition before God because of our sin. The first step towards making a change is recognizing a need exists. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrated His love toward us that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” Realize that you cannot save yourself.

Believe the good news of God’s love for you. You don’t have to “clean yourself up” before coming to God: He accepts you just as you are. John 3:16 says, “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”  Believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ's death on the cross, and bodily resurrection from the grave three days later.

Confess your sins and ask for God’s forgiveness. Just imagine a life free of regret and guilt! God promises to forget your sins in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Confess Jesus as the supreme Lord of your life, and surrender to Him.

Demonstrate your decision by following Jesus' command to be baptized by immersion in water and getting connected with a local Bible-believing church. Salvation is not just a one-time deicision, but something that impacts every part of our lives. Through faith in Jesus alone we are saved, but we are called to demonstrate that faith in James 2 and 1 John 3:9.
