Kristen Wyatt
Worship Coordinator
I was raised by parents who loved Jesus and served him with all their hearts. At a young age I responded to a wordless book presentation and prayed to receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. At the age of 11, I surrendered to a call to missions. Later that call more specifically led me into worship ministry.
At the age of fourteen I began playing the piano for services at Central Valley (then known as Cherry Lane Baptist Church). Over the years I have served the music team in a variety of roles including pianist, keyboard player, vocalist, worship leader, and guitar player.
My passion for ministry and worship was born in my broken places including battles with postpartum depression and spinal injury. If not for the Word of God and worship, I don’t know what might have become of me. I learned to walk with Jesus in the secret places of my heart where my own kitchen and laundry room became sanctuaries of worship.
It is my greatest desire to invite people to walk in a love relationship with Jesus through the scripture, prayer and worship where they too may experience the same kind of healing from Jesus that I have experienced.
One of the most important things you will hear me say is that worship is not music, but music can be worship. Worship is an attitude and action of surrender to Jesus, including obedience, adoration, prayer and praise. For me, the use of music within worship has been life changing. When I sing to Jesus with all my heart, things change. My heart changes. My circumstances have even changed. I am confident that as God’s people worship Him, their lives will be healed and He will be glorified.
I grew up at Central Valley and now it is my delight to serve as Music Team Leader of this church where I have been loved and mentored for so many years. I am joined in ministry by my husband, Chris Wyatt, and our two daughters.
